At CES 2024, a new concept Mercedes-Benz was presented - VISION AVTR. The futuristic concept of the presented electric car unites man, nature and the car in a unique way.
Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Mercedes-Benz AG, presented the concept car in a speech together with Academy Award winner and Avatar film creator James Cameron.
It was the philosophy created by the cult director in the science fiction film that became the basis for the creation of VISION AVTR.

VISION AVTR design – the epitome of environmental friendliness
The innovative concept of VISION AVTR combines an eco-friendly interaction between interior, exterior and UX design. The entire design process was focused on a specific result - a unique experience of interaction and perception of the concept car by the driver and passengers. It was about creating a unique space in which passengers have a biometric connection with each other, with the vehicle and the outside world.
The side outer opening extends through the inside and creates an endless loop, inspired by the sacred connection between the Na'vi people in the film Avatar and their natural habitat.
Also, with its elongated “One Bow” design and organic design philosophy, the VISION AVTR represents a radical new stage in automotive technology. Thus, going from the concept of mindfulness to the unique fusion of man and car, Mercedes-Benz engineers succeeded in creating the VISION AVTR concept electric vehicle.
A laconic continuation of the exterior minimalist design are the front seats, made in a very organic shape that is reminiscent of leafy hammocks from the planet Pandora. The center console symbolizes the Tree of Souls, the most sacred place of the Na'vi. The control unit is intuitive and incredibly functional.
In addition, the control center is located in such a way that it is easily accessible for both the driver and passenger, as well as for rear passengers.
In this way, VISION AVTR establishes a close biometric connection with the driver and helps increase awareness of the surrounding situation.
The back of the seats and the interior of the roof are made of a special fabric that changes color. Depending on the lighting, textiles can be dark blue or delicate light blue.
But in addition, the eco-friendliness of the electric car interior is enhanced by DINAMICA® vegetarian leather - the first and only microfiber that guarantees environmental efficiency throughout the entire production cycle.
DINAMICA® is recycled material from old clothes, fabrics and PET plastic bottles.
